MTV offered a contest for filmmakers to create an original parody of any Quentin Tarantino scene for a chance to win cash, prizes and two tickets to a exclusive toronto screening of Inglorious Basterds with Tarantino and star Eli Roth in attendance.

Countless entries from across Canada were accepted and the Top 10 were chosen by MTV and submitted to Quentin to judge. 'Basterds' was submitted in those inital Top 10 winning selections.

"Tarantino's Basterds" was ultimately chosen as a "Top Three Finalist" by Tarantino. Footage from the Basterds contest entry was featured several times randomly throughout his hour long appearance on MTV Live.
