MTV offered a contest for filmmakers to create an original parody of any Quentin Tarantino scene for a chance to win cash, prizes and two tickets to a exclusive toronto screening of Inglorious Basterds with the director and star Eli Roth in attendance.

Countless entries from across Canada were accepted and the Top 10 were chosen by MTV and submitted to Quentin to judge. 'Basterds' was submitted in those 10 selections.

"Tarantino's Basterds" was ultimately chosen as a "Top Three Finalist" by Tarantino and footage from the entry was featured heavily throughout his appearance on MTV Live.
