ABOUT THE PROJECT: Shot over two days with borrowed gear and without budget, Sad Girl Radio is the debut video from Canadian indie-darlings The Awkward Stage. Cremationist by day and frontman by night, Shane Nelken pitched a concept surrounding a housecat burdened with the task of sorting out it's seemingly shattered owner. Catnip, hallucinations and whiskey from a mug provide the only escape. The video was shot in the funeral home Nelken worked in and was developed around the fact that, unlike most cats, Monster loves getting soaked with water.
